Battle Tested Leaders Needed

We are looking for Battle Tested Leaders to help mentor and grow the next generation of entrepreneurs for the Inland Empire!

The CSUSB School of Entrepreneurship is growing yet again! With increasing interest in Entrepreneurship among students, as well as multiple new programs and courses at CSUSB, we are going to be increasing the number of courses offered in Entrepreneurship in 2020-21 by over 200%. The programs driving this expansion are:

Monica Estrella delivers entrepreneurial instruction for the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship program's Entrepreneurial Technician series.

What We Are Looking For...

These new programs will require us, at least in the short term (next 1-3 years), to add a number of part-time, adjunct faculty to our team. Here is what we are looking for – entrepreneurs or business leaders who:

  1. Share our core values:
    • Ownership Mindset
    • Results Driven
    • Commitment to Continuous Learning
  2. Have a strong desire to share their knowledge and experience and are interested in teaching, mentoring and coaching the next generation of entrepreneurs for the Inland Empire.

  3. Have substantive professional experience. We require a minimum of five (5) years of exempt status in the business field. We specifically look for people that have owned and operated a successful business for at least five (5) years or have significant experience working with and supporting entrepreneurs through activities such as consulting, angel and venture capital investment, and business banking.

  4. Have a graduate degree from accredited institution in the business field. An MBA or comparable is preferred, although we can accept degrees from other fields dependent on the level and type of business experience.

  5. Are engaged in other professional activities such as:

    • Documented professional certifications in the area of teaching
    • Consulting activities that are material in terms of time and substance
    • Significant participation in business professional associations and societies
    • Relevant and active service on boards of directors (non-profit or for-profit)
    • Development and presentation of executive education programs
    • Documented continuing professional education experiences
    • Professional presentations
    • Participation in professional events that focus on the practice of business
    • Participation in other activities that place faculty in direct contact with business
    • Other substantial professional or service work

The Recruiting Process

All applicants are reviewed by our faculty recruiting committee, and if deemed qualified, are transferred to a pool of eligible faculty. The department chair then typically interviews and makes the ultimate hiring decision. Faculty assignments are based on need and demand at a given time, and eligibility is not a guarantee that a teaching assignment will be offered.

  2. CURRENT RESUME/CURRICULUM VITAE with a least three professional (3) references.
  3. EVIDENCE OF TEACHING EFFECTIVENESS (If available or applicable) such as a teaching portfolio, reports on teaching observations, and/or student evaluations of teaching.
